MAKING A RESERVATION
Please call our office at 910.686.4131. Although we will make every effort to accommodate your wishes, some properties are rented months in advance. The earlier your reservations are made, the more likely you are to receive your first choice. Because the property owner employs us, we can make no property substitutions after your reservation is confirmed.
RENTAL RATES
Rental rates are for 7 nights occupancy, from Friday to Friday during the summer rental season (June 3rd. through September 1st.) unless noted otherwise in the description. Weekly rates for the summer season and for off-season are as shown. Night rates are available only in off-season on selected properties. Please call for quotes.
RENT PAYMENT—CONFIRMATION
A RENTAL DEPOSIT REQUEST/VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT detailing your rental charges, initial deposit amount, and terms and conditions will be mailed to you. This will include a $50.00 non-refundable reservation fee. This fee is payable with your advance rent and will not be refunded if you subsequently cancel your reservation. Please sign the Rental Deposit Request and return with your advance deposit within 15 days of making your reservation to avoid cancellation. Required deposit is 50% of the total rent (excluding taxes, security deposit, linens) plus reservation fee. When we receive your deposit, your reservation is confirmed. Full payment of your remaining balance must be made thirty (30) days prior to arrival by personal check or certified funds. We are sorry, but we do not accept credit cards. There is a $25 service charge for all returned checks.
THIS WILL BE A VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT UNDER THE NORTH CAROLINA VACATION RENTAL ACT. THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE PARTIES TO THIS AGREEMENT ARE DEFINED BY LAW AND INCLUDE UNIQUE PROVISIONS PERMITTING THE DISBURSEMENT OF RENT PRIOR TO TENANCY AND EXPEDITED EVICTION OF TENANTS. YOUR SIGNATURE ON THIS AGREEMENT, OR PAYMENT OF MONEY OR TAKING POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY AFTER RECEIPT OF THE AGREEMENT, IS EVIDENCE OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGREEMENT AND YOUR INTENT TO USE THIS PROPERTY FOR A VACATION RENTAL
RESERVATION FEE
Your confirmed reservation will include a $50 non-refundable reservation fee. This fee is payable with your advance rent and will not be returned if you subsequently cancel your reservation.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Reservations cancelled more than 60 days in advance of the beginning of the rental period will be given a 75% refund of deposit. If cancellation is 60 days or less from the beginning of the rental period and agent is unable to re-rent the property NO refund of deposit will be made.
SECURITY DEPOSIT/DAMAGE
A refundable Security Deposit in the amount of $200 is required. All or any portion of the deposit not retained will be refunded within forty-five (45) days of the termination of the Lease. The fee covers any charges of returning items that were left, shows ordered on cable, long-distance phone calls, etc.
There is a non-refundable Damage Protection fee of $65. As a part of your stay, you may purchase a Vacation Rental Damage Protection plan designed to cover unintentional damages to the rental unit interior that occur during your stay provided they are disclosed to management prior to check-out.
CHECK-IN 4:00 PM
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Our goal is to have all homes ready by 4:00PM. Almost every home is rented each week; cleaning and maintenance cannot begin until the previous guests have left. If you arrive early, the cleaning and maintenance staff may not be able to accommodate your early arrival.
CHECK-OUT 10:00 AM
Check-out is 10:00 AM and is strictly enforced in the summer season. The cleaning service will arrive promptly at 10:00 A.M. to clean the house you are occupying. Due to the small amount of time between rental check-out and check-in, we ask that you and your guests please honor the check-out time. Please drop off keys at the Real Estate Office.
ALL OUR HOMES ARE NON-SMOKING HOMES
NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN OUR RENTAL HOMES
The Figure Eight Island Homeowners Association strictly forbid pets in our rental homes. Violation of this rule may necessitate eviction and no refund will be issued. A $200 cleaning fee will be charged.
ABSOLUTELY NO JET SKIS OR WAVE RUNNERS ALLOWED
Due to the potential for accidents and noise disruption, the Figure Eight Homeowners Association passed a rule that jet skis and wave runners are not allowed to be brought on the island and used by Figure Eight Guests.
FIREWORKS OF ANY FORM ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE ISLAND
HURRICANE POLICY
If state or local authorities, acting pursuant to statutory authority, order a mandatory evacuation of Figure Eight Island, the Tenant shall comply with the evacuation order. Upon compliance, the Tenant shall be entitled to a refund of the pro-rated rent for each night that the Tenant is not able to occupy the premises of the mandatory evacuation order. This is from the time the evacuation is called for to the time that you are permitted to re-occupy your vacation residence. A voluntary evacuation is at your discretion and NO REFUNDS will be issued. Any refund will be made within forty-five (45) days.
